Founded in October 2013, the Long Island Modern Quilt Guild is a dynamic and growing organization. We welcome new members of all experience levels—whether you’re an expert, a beginner, or simply curious about quilting. Our guild meets monthly to explore the meaning of modern quilting, share our latest projects, inspire one another, learn from engaging speakers, sew together, and give back to the community.
Wondering if you're modern enough for the Modern Quilt Guild?
Don't worry! Everyone is welcome! The Long Island Modern Quilt Guild focuses on exploration and creativity, not judgment.
We meet once a month from September through June at the Mid Island Y JCC in Plainview. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The yearly dues are $55-$57 (January to December), which covers our monthly meetings, speaker sessions, and various events. We also welcome new members at any time and will prorate dues based on when you join. If you want to try us out before committing, visitors can attend for $10 per meeting or $15 for speaker meetings. We ask that visitors join after their third meeting.
Full membership benefits include:
- Monthly guild meetings
- Guild activities including challenges, swaps, and exchanges
-Membership to the Modern Quilt Guild (an international organization)
- Members-only retreats and sew-ins
- Private speaker engagements
- Hands on workshops
